Tips To Get Ready for the Travel
- Ensure you check your preferred method of travel when it comes to the U.S. border or Immigration Canada since the State department could cause unexpected obstructions.
- You must always reach your starting point around one hour before the scheduled time.
- Make sure you pass all the requirements needed for both the United States and Canada in relation to visas on your travel.
Recognized identification documents
All travelers must provide some form of identification in order to cross the border. The following documents are accepted:
- Passport or Passport Card
- Trusted Traveler Cards (NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
- REAL ID or Enhanced Driver’s License
- Merchant Mariner Document
- Military ID (ID must be accompanied by travel orders)
- American Indian Card (form I-872)
- INAC Card
- US Permanent Resident Card (form I-551)
- Re-entry Permit
- Refugee Travel Document
Required Documents for Minors
A minor, in terms of border crossing regulations, is a person aged below 16. When traveling with a larger organized group, like a school or youth group, this limit extends to under 19. Note: Per our travel policies, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult when traveling internationally.
- The following documents are accepted for minors:
- Birth Certificate
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad
- Naturalization Certificate
Canadian Citizenship Certificate or Card
🧾 Documents for Amish and Mennonite Old Order Travelers
All Old Order Amish and Mennonite travelers must possess the following:
- A copy of their birth certificate
- A signed Social Security/Medicare Waiver (IRS Form 4029)
